Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’S)
Below are some frequently asked questions. If you do not find your answer here, please email: admin@englishlanguagecentreonline.com and we will get back to you with a reply asap.

Q. Am I eligible?
A. We welcome all applicants from around the world whatever your background and previous experience. However you must possess a clear use of the English Language and be a minimum age of 18.

Q. Do you offer any discounts?
A. 10% discount is offered for students, the unemployed and when two or more enrol at the same time.

Q. When can I start?
A. You may start at any time after course enrolment – which takes a matter of minutes.

Q. Is your course designed to teach adults only?
A. ELC courses are designed to teach ALL ages unlike many other courses which only prepare trainees to teach adults. A specialist section on Young Learners is included in both courses.

Q. How many hours of study does it require to complete the course?
A. We recommend between 20-25 hours per unit on average but this will vary depending on a student’s personal circumstance.

Q. Is there any teaching practice or need to attend a centre?
A. No. All courses are conducted entirely online.

Q. Will I need to buy any books or other materials?
A. No. All courses are self-contained but reading lists for further studies are provided.

Q. How can I contact my tutor with any questions that I may have?
A. Your tutor can be contacted by email at any time but most students tend to ask questions when they submit an assignment.

Q. How are assignments graded?
A.   A,B,C marks are pass grades and D and below are fail. A student may resubmit a failed assignment twice.

Q. How long do I wait to receive my Certificate/Diploma?
A. Usually within 7 days of successful completion.

Q. Does ELC offer the services of a recruitment agency?
A. ELC is an independent research and training organisation and is therefore not linked to any agency. However we do liaise with many leading ELT organisations worldwide and are often approached by reputable recruitment agencies looking for teachers.

Q. What are TEFL, TESL and TESOL?
A.  TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
     TESL stands for Teaching English a Second Language.
     TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and encompasses both TEFL and TESL.
